Key Ingredients
Purslane
Purslane is a powerful anti-aging ingredient due to its high glutathione and Omega-3 fatty acid content, which helps protect and repair skin cells. Purslane is helpful in treating sensitive skin, eczema, acne, and even the most reactive skin. With its powerful antioxidants, it improves skin health, reduces wrinkles, stimulates cell repair and collagen, and is safe and gentle for all skin types.
A study published in 2004 revealed that Purslane contains high levels of vitamin A. Vitamin A, combined with other compounds found in this plant, help reduce inflammation and redness when applied topically.
Purslane has been touted as the "fountain of youth" because of it’s incredible anti-aging properties. In 2009, the Nobel Prize was awarded to Elizabeth H Blackburn, Carol W Greider and Jack W Szostak for their discovery of how Telomerase protects our body's chromosomes. With age, like most things, this protection is reduced. Thankfully, studies have proven that Purslane actually helps to reactivate Telomerase, essentially aging your skin backwards!
Bakuchiol
Bakuchiol is a vegan skincare ingredient with roots in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine. It's a potent antioxidant that visibly reduces skin discolorations and soothes skin.
Bakuchiol is a natural, non-irritating alternative to retinol that increases cell turnover, stimulates collagen production, and reduces signs of aging. It works best in concentrations of 0.5-2%. Recent studies show Bakuchiol works as well as retinol, but is far less irritating.
For dry, dehydrated skin a Bakuchiol oil is optimal.
Matrixyl
Matrixyl is an anti-aging peptide that promotes collagen and elastin production, which strengthens connective tissue to firm aging skin and removes blemishes.
As we age, our skin loses peptides that are vital for communication, resulting in wrinkles, sagging, dryness, and discolorations. Matrixyl mimics the body's natural peptides to signal the need for more collagen and elastin production, which replenishes the skin and restores its youthful appearance.
Using Matrixyl also boosts the production of hyaluronic acid, which provides nourishment and moisturizes the skin. Matrixyl is safe to use on sensitive skin and reduces the look of wrinkles, sagging, and discolorations while making the skin firmer, more resilient, and healthier.
Argireline
Argireline is one of the most widely used and reputable anti-wrinkle ingredients in the skincare industry today. Made up of a strand of amino acids, Argireline is a very well known and proven anti-aging peptide. A peptide is a protein that is present in the building blocks of our skin.
Argireline works great at diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, which are often the most telling signs of age. It can work even better when used with the other ingredients in our formulations.
Studies have shown that women using a 10% solution throughout a month saw up to a 30% reduction in depth of their most problematic wrinkles. That can remove years of aging from your face!
Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic acid naturally occurs in the eyes, skin, and joints with its primary function to trap water inside tissue cells and keep your skin plump and hydrated. Not only does it hydrate your skin, it holds a thousand times its weight in water, preventing moisture from escaping, and keeping your body tissue moist and lubricated.
As you age, the level of natural Hyaluronic Acid in your body decreases, which is why you should definitely add this ingredient to your daily routine. Skin that is adequately hydrated looks younger, smoother, and healthier, and is less likely to experience skin irritation, including dermatitis and redness.
Hyaluronic Acid supports the layers of skin along with collagen and elastin. It instantly increases your skin's hydration levels and minimizes fine lines and wrinkles.
Haloxyl
Haloxyl is a combination of active peptides that brighten and thicken the skin. It helps to reduce dark circles caused by broken capillaries and water retention.
Haloxyl consists of four key components, including three active peptides, which brighten under the eyes by improving circulation, diluting the accumulation of blood pigmentation, and boosting collagen production.
Palmitoyl Oligopeptide and Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-3, contained in Haloxyl, strengthen and thicken the skin under the eye, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Haloxyl has benefits like reducing puffiness, boosting circulation, plumping and firming the skin, and improving elasticity.
Abyssinian Oil
Abyssinian oil is the closest natural oil to our skin's oils, providing the best natural hydration. It's a pale yellow, light-textured oil that's a natural alternative to synthetic mineral oils. It's rich in antioxidants, vitamins, proteins, and minerals that promote healthier skin. With linoleic and linolenic acids, it's great for conditioning and reducing inflammation. Daily use of Abyssinian oil is like taking a multivitamin for your skin!
Aloe Vera Leaf Juice
Aloe Vera is a natural ingredient with an abundance of Vitamin C and E, and beta-carotene. It is an effective anti-aging agent because of its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties.
It helps to increase collagen production and improve skin elasticity, while eradicating blemishes and diminishing fine lines. Aloe Vera is also a gentle and effective treatment for acne, thanks to its antiseptic and astringent properties, which aid in cell growth, reduce inflammation, and minimize pores. It is also known to lighten blemishes, stretch marks, and acne scars.
Olive Leaf Extract
Olive leaf extract is a beneficial ingredient for skincare due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, which help to reduce damage caused by harmful factors and slow down aging. It is rich in Oleuropein and Hydroxytyrosol, which have multi-functional benefits such as anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, and anti-viral.
Along with other hydrating, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant ingredients, olive leaf extract can be a powerful ally in protecting your skin.
